Reflection:
The literature review was my favorite paper because I was very knowledgeable in my discourse community. Coming out of the annotated bibliography with such a good understanding, I was able to easily create this paper and attach addition information. This project included discussion what we conversed about in our annotated bibliography and adding a research gap and project proposal. A research gap is the information that is missing from the articles I read for my annotated bibliography in my discourse community and a project proposal is how to solve the problem of the missing information. The research gap and project proposal suggest further research that can possibly benefit my discourse community. I was very thankful Ms. Wolcott did this paper following the annotated bibliography because it was much easier this way. I believe this assignment was the easiest to complete, which shows how far I've came and how much progress I've made through the semester.
What I learned?
Since I’ve already done extensive research on my subject from the annotated bibliography, I found this essay to be easier than my previous papers. I learned that even though my opinion may not be correct, it is important to add it to a literature review because without my opinion, it is just a replica of an annotated bibliography. Due to this paper, I was taught that taking teachers input and comments is important- I utilized the remarks made on my annotated bibliography towards my literature review to exceed a better grade. I learned that a project proposal is important because it depicts an extension to research that has already been tested. The project gap was new to me so I learned a new way of organization. The most important aspect I learned within this paper is that although there has been a lot of research on reading in children with Down syndrome, there is a lot more progress that needs to and can be done.
How I think I did?
I believe I did really well on this paper because I’ve read so much research and was pretty excelled in knowledge in my area of study. Doing the annotated bibliography before this project really helped me understand and correctly do this project. I followed the rubric and listened to my professor’s comments and directions. I believe I did a good job organizing and explaining all my main points. I also believe I did a good job because I had a non -traditional research gap. Overall, I believe I had a solid understanding of this essay.
