Reflection:
My literacy narrative was about my journey in becoming literate by discuss sponsors and participants who have helped me achieve the literate position I am currently in. The assignment included an individual definition of literacy, how you learned to read and write, who taught you literacy skills, what you plan to do with these abilities in the future and why my literacy narrative is important. I created a video instead of a paper in order to bluntly state how my narrative journey has helped me achieve my current literature record. My first major paper was very interesting because it was a different type of assignment and I was able to include anecdotes, which gave a personal feel within the project.
What I learned?
For this assignment, I did a video clip which was more effective for me personally because I was able to see how I express myself and how my previous writing situations have affected me. Deborah Brandt’s passage “Sponsors of Literacy” allowed me to reflect the various sponsors that have influenced my literacy career. From this assignment, I learned the definition of literacy and had the realization of how I’ve gotten to the current literacy placement I am currently in.
How I think I did?
I think this was a beneficial first major project because I was able to invest in my past composition experiences, which allowed me to move forward and continue to improve in my literacy profession. I believe I did very well on this project because I utilized aspects on the rubric and included constructive topics.
