ENC 1102-Professor Wolcott

Reflection:
When the annotated bibliography was first introduced to me, I was anxious because it was more work than I’ve ever done before. It consisted of reading many, many articles and analyzing them to filter the main ideas. It was difficult to find so many articles that related to my discourse community, but one I found all of them I actually enjoyed writing my annotated bibliography because I was confident in my subject. As I submitted my assignment, I felt both relieved and proud of myself for putting in so much time and effort into one assignment-it ended up being 23 pages with 17 annotations.

Wh
at I learned?
Through my annotated bibliography, I learned that there are many studies on reading in children with Down syndrome. Although, most studies investigated different aspects depending on what subject they’re studying. From the many articles I read, I learned that there are many different ways to test reading skills in children with DS. I was taught that an annotated bibliography is an appealing concept and helpful for research purposes. Greene taught me the tool of framing, which was a very important aspect in writing this paper because it allowed me to effectively present my argument.

How I think I did?
Specifically, I was very confident about this paper because I put a lot of time, effort and energy into this essay. I took a lot of pride within this essay. I believe I had a very strong introduction and backed up my annotations very well filled with affective information. I also believe my formatting was on point. I followed the rubric and added all of the guideline proposals. The only thing I would have done differently in my introduction would be to add who I was writing the issues to. It ended up being twenty-three pages long with seventeen annotations.

How I actually did?
